Oishi Don are serving Japanese 'donburi' rice bowls and more at the new (ish) Tavern on the Hill pub in Highham Hill Road, off Blackhorse Lane. They serve Mondays to Saturdays for dinner - with a curry night on Thursdays where they serve katsu curry (in my pic above) - plus a more traditional brunch at the weekends, and a Sunday roast on Sundays.
I visited a couple of weeks ago for the curry night, and it was fantastic - a great big bowl, with lots of chicken and rice, and wonderful flavours. Great pub grub; great comfort food!
The pub is run by the Wild Card Brewery team (who also have a taproom about 5 minutes away, so expect great beers to go with your food!

Dinner Menu - Mon-Sat 5pm-8:30pm (Curry night on Thursdays)
Brunch Menu - Fri & Sat 11am-4pm
Sunday Roast - Sun 12pm-8:30pm (or until it runs out)
