Tom Cenci's Dinners at Stoney Street by 26 Grains in SE1
Chef Tom Cenci is cooking at the Stoney Street by 26 Grains, by Borough Market, providing a dinner menu on Wednesdays through to Saturdays. Tom has a long and impressive CV, including Duck & Waffle, and he brings this experience to crafting his own menus, focusing on modern European cooking with great seasonal ingredients. The menu changes regularly: when I visited a couple of weeks ago I had his Turkish manti, which were excellent, but not necessarily still available. Keep an eye on Tom's Instagram to see the latest dishes coming out of the kitchen!
"Available every evening from Wednesday to Saturday until the end of the year, Tom’s menu will showcase quality British produce with a focus on sustainability and reducing food waste. To start there will be small bites of cornmeal pancake with Old Bay butter, charred corn & spring onion and griddled Navajo flatbread with strained yoghurt, chilli & rose oil. To follow, there will be smoked salmon bellies with grape mustard mayo topped with radish & turmeric dill pickles, curried carrots with wild rice & curry leaves and ‘pig ‘n’ eggs’ with fresh black pudding, celeriac & a fried hen’s egg. Larger plates of cocoa-seared onglet of grass-fed Irish beef with hispi cabbage, miso butter & cocoa nibs alongside Tom’s take on the classic smashed cheeseburger will also join the menu. For those with a sweet tooth, there will be an indulgent banoffee cheesecake with a hob nob crunch and puppy chow cereal (a typically homemade American snack with peanut butter, melted chocolate and cereal) served with a light chocolate yoghurt mousse and drizzled with hibiscus syrup."

Dinner Ladies' Lobster Shack on Putney Embankment
Suddenly the summer has come to London, and it feels like perfect weather for lobster rolls, ice cream sandwiches, and 'Frose' - frozen rose. Luckily the Dinner Ladies have just opened up their Lobster Shack outside the London Rowing Club on Putney Embankment, serving Saturdays and Sundays in June, 12 noon til 5pm.
I visited last week and it was excellent (see pics). Don't miss it!
"A Putney based catering company Dinner Ladies Ltd are opening THE LOBSTER SHACK directly on the shores of the Putney Embankment. A wooden shack pop up celebrating all things seafood is starting 5th & 6th June and continuing for a limited time only during the summer.
Walk riverside along the gorgeous embankment and pick up one of their famously fresh lobster rolls in a soft brioche, topped with crispy chicken skin and sriracha mayonnaise.
With no need to book, the pop up will be open from 12-5pm on Saturday and Sunday and will be selling a limited amount of lobster rolls, monkfish bites with squid ink batter and ’nduja mayonnaise, and wait for it, white chocolate chip and black sesame ice-cream sandwiches.
Wash your seafood delights down with their deliciously refreshing frosé, a bright pink frozen raspberry rose wine cocktail. Honestly the most tasty summer drink, transporting you straight to European shores.
Lily Cai the Co-Founder of Dinner Ladies says, ‘we want to bring a holiday vibe to Putney and high quality delicious street food to locals that they want to eat and they don’t have to book ages in advance!’
Make sure to catch them early to avoid disappointment as they will only be there until they sell out.
Enjoy some fresh and delicious seafood and frozen cocktails whilst taking in the stunning views over the water in South West London!"
