Tacu Tacu's Latin American Pop-up in Mare Street, E8

Tacu Tacu,  who serve great Latin American-inspired dishes, has opened a new pop-up at 175 Mare Street, London Fields, formerly the site of Rita's. It's open Wednesdays to Saturdays Sundays, and you can expect lots of tacos, plus the legendary Pulpo Al Olivo, MexiClam Fries (clams simmered in a creamy wine sauce over sweet potato fries), cocktails and lots more.  See you there!

"Latin American outfit Tacu Tacu are returning to the food scene after the summer break. After starting off selling Mexican Shrimp Burgers in Brick Lane street market in 2014, several pub residencies as well as supper clubs, they are finally settling down in fashionable London Fields for the next 6 months in the site previously occupied by Rita’s. The space has been converted into a bright and colourful venue to capture the spirit of a Latin summer and keep it going through the damp British winter.
The first week is a soft launch with the menu limited to tacos (with the instahit Octopus Burger and those moreish Brazilian cheeseballs thrown in for good measure).  They will be giving away 300 of their finest tacos over the first weekend (15th and 16th). Choose from chocolate ox cheek, bajasian fish or jerk plantain.
A fuller menu will be available from the 20th of September- expect the Pulpo Al Olivo (the most beautiful Octopus in London Town), Mexiclam fries (clams simmered in a creamy wine sauce over sweet potato fries), Lychee & Ginger Ceviche and much more. For desserts- they will continue their flirtation with Latin cocktails- so, yes, that means the Mojito Cheesecake is making a long awaited comeback to London. In mid-October it will get even better with what will undoubtedly become one of the hottest brunches in the city- we can’t say much about it right now but it will be very special- Mexican chilli crab toast anyone?
There will be bottled beers and a revolving wine and cocktail menu which will include the likes of the summery Flower Power (Lavender and Chilli Margarita) and the caffeine-rich ‘Black and Black’. Rumours have it that they will also be launching a very special Colombian Gin and Tonic so watch this space.
The bar will be open till midnight but food served will be served Wednesday-Friday 1730 till 10pm and Saturday 1400-2200- keep an eye on their facebook for more extended hours"
