Louie Louie, the smart cafe and bar on Walworth Road, SE17, has a new resident chef, Wednesdays to Saturdays - the Persian-influenced James Nicholson. James has previosly popped up under his brand Bah Bah, and will be bringing his flavours to Louie Louie until September. Expect small plates like shaved cucumber and pomegranate salad (see pic), and larger ones like shank of spring lamb braised with fresh herbs & dried lime. Go!
"Louie Louie is a cafe during the day with excellent coffee & homemade cakes plus all day brunch at the weekends.
In the evening Louie Louie transforms into a bar & restaurant. For four nights a week, Wednesday to Saturday, we hand over the apron to a “Chef In Residence”. Starting on Wednesday 28 June 2017, our second “Chef In Residence” is JAMES NICHOLSON.
Born in London to an Iranian mother, James' food draws on memories of eating Persian food as a child and his travels through Iran. Expect small plates to share amongst friends, bright with classic Persian flavours. Charcoal grilled meats, aromatic stews with fragrant rice and deeply satisfying vegetarian dishes."
When - Weds-Sat 6pm-11pm, until September 2017
Where - Louie Louie, 347 Walworth Rd, London SE17 2AL
