Yak Bites, a Nepalese supperclub, is holding it's April event at the Nepal Restaurant in Uxbridge Road, W12 on Sunday 16th April (Easter Sunday). It take place from 1pm m- 4pm, and starts with a short workshop where you will learn to make a couple of dishes, followed by the lunch. Tickets are just £35, and it should be a fun afternoon!
"The Newah Bhwoye ( Newar Feast ) will have a workshop where you will learn to make bhatmas (ginger black soybean), aloo achar (salad with brown sesame) and chhyoela (grill with Newar marinade) , sampling of chhyang and aila (rice wine and vodka) and introduction to exclusive Himalayan spices and ingredients.
Following the workshop join us in a traditional feast Newar style on leaf plates. One of the 125 ethnic groups of Nepal, the Newar are the original indigenous people of Kathmandu Valley. Known as master craftsmen and temple builders, they are also famous for their distinctive cuisine out of a history of trade between Tibet and India."
