The Union Chapel's Middle Eastern Dinner in N1 to Raise Funds to Repair its Clock

The Union Chapel, near Highbuty & Islington, is holding a 3 course middle-eastern dinner to raise funds to help pay for repairs to the clock in its clock tower, which dates from the 1880s, but has not been working for over a decade.  The food will be cooked by resident chef Iraj, using flavours from his native Iran, with meaty and vegetarian option available.  Please help to support them!

"Union Chapel may be best known as a music venue but the food is fast gaining a reputation of its own!
Since 2013 The Margins Project has run a paid cafĂ© training programme which acts as a stepping stone for people who have experienced homelessness and crisis but are now looking to get back into work. The central tenet is to develop skills and confidence in a supportive environment so that by the end of the 4 month programme trainees are better able to transition into full time work or further training.
Under the guidance of our resident chef Iraj, trainees cook and serve food to the general public at gigs and events here at Union Chapel. The trainees learn front and back of house catering skills and gain a Level 2 award in Food Safety.
Iraj, a former trainee, is a remarkable cook, Iraj uses many of the flavours of his native Iran and only the finest produce including free range meat from local butcher Godfrey & Sons.
For one night only, Iraj is preparing a very special menu as a fundraiser to help repair our clock.
The three course menu will feature Middle-Eastern inspired mezze, slow cooked lamb with roses and plums, for vegetarians, an artichoke and saffron ragout with lemon aioli and for dessert a white chocolate pine nut and lemon zest mouse. Plus a free glass of prosecco."
