December 2015 will see the first joint daily residency at The King & Co in Clapham, when Dogtown London & Slap & Pickle both take over the kitchen to serve fine hotdogs and burgers to hungry diners. Go on - try one of each!
"Streetfood heavyweight Dogtown London will take on hot new contender Slap & Pickle this Winter in a thrilling first double residency at popular independent pub The King & Co in Clapham. Launching on Monday 30th November, the two month kitchen takeover will see heavenly hotdogs and smashing burgers go head to head in the ring, coupled with the talented duo's amazing array of homemade pickles and sauces.
Visitors to the pub’s December and January popup showdown will get to choose their champion between Dogtown's legendary pork and beef frank, and Slap & Pickle's signature double cheeseburger. All cooked to order and made using free-range meat from trusted producers the Rare Breed Meat Company, the hearty hotdogs and juicy patties will showcase an eclectic lineup of homemade pickles, relishes & sauces - ranging from a modern twist on the traditional American with sweet dill pickle and house sauce; to spicy Mexican with chuck steak chilli, beer-cheese sauce, sour cream, coriander and pickled chillies; and cool Indian with mango ketchup and lime pickle.
Appetising “small things" such as beer-battered pickles and corndog “pups” with Sriracha mayo will be available as a pre-match warm up, as well as irresistible sides including beer-cheese fries and ‘Nduja mac & cheese to accompany the main event. Diners looking for sweet relief after the exciting exhibition fight are sure to be satisfied by the chefs’ homemade gooey dark chocolate brownies topped with black pepper peanut butter, salted caramel, winter fruit sauce and vanilla pod ice cream. Featuring weekly-changing surprise additions to the menu and even rumours of an exclusive appearance by a Christmas special decked with festive Brussel sprouts kimchi and spiced cranberry ketchup, Dogtown London .vs. Slap & Pickle promises to be the unmissable hot ticket for this season."
