As part of Urban Food Fortnight in September there's a collaboration between the Table Cafe and St. Mungo's Putting Down Roots, to host a dinner in Melior Street Garden. The very reasonable price of 12.50 price includes an arrival drink, one main and one dessert.
"This September, London will feast on the fabulous local produce being grown, produced and cooked on its doorstep, with the capital city’s second Urban Food Fortnight.
Restaurants, cafés, bars and pubs across the city will showcase dishes and drinks made with fruit, veg and herbs from urban farms, honey cultivated in community beehives and feature London's great food producers - cheese, preserves, charcuterie.
On 19 September 2013, Team London Bridge, St. Mungo's Putting Down Roots, the Table Cafe and Capital Growth will come together for their second annual “Dinner from our back garden” at the Melior Street Allotment as part of Urban Food Fortnight.
This event is in celebration of the inspiring partnership between the Table Cafe and St. Mungo's Putting Down Roots. The highly popular local restaurant on Southwark Street purchases its produce from the Melior Street allotment, which serves as a horticultural training space for St. Mungo's clients affected by homelessness.
