The Festival of Heat - The First London Chilli Festival in Spitalfields


Sometimes it's hard to keep up with all of the things I'm sent and want to feature, and this is one of those.  the Festival of Heat - London's First Chilli Festival - happens this Sunday 29th, 12pm - 6pm, at Spitalfields City Farm, off Brick Lane.  Expect live music, cooking demos from Coriander Club, a bar, a chilli cook-off, food...  What's not to like..?

"Are you a chilli lover? Do you eat chilli? Do you make chilli jams? Grow chillis?
Then the Festival fo Heat, London's 1st Chilli Festival is for you.
This Sunday 29th September, 12-6pm, free entry.
Expect to eat delicious fiery foods from Lolailo-Stylo (Spain), TheCurry Tree (gluten free, vegan, vegetarian foods from Goa), Chaat's Bangladesh Street food, with a BBQ from the local lads Buffalo Wings and Tom & Olly's chilli BBQ.
Chilli sauce, oils and preserves from all over the UK including Burning Desire Foods voted Best UK Chilli Company at the Fiery Foods Festival 2013 and award winner Kam's South American Products as well as bar serving cold beer, chilli cocktails, wine and mulled cider.
Spitalfields City Farm will be selling fresh farm produce, chilli plants and seeds on the day.
We have a fantastic live folk music line up for you from Surtaal Harmonian & Tabla (Bangladeshi folk), Lewis FLoyd Henry (the man plays the hell out of his guitar whilst stomping beats along on his home made foot operated drum kit!), Beltane (Irish/Scottish Celtic sounds), Dan Mayfield & Emma Winstone (folk musicians who sing and play a combination of fiddle, pedal harmonium, accordion and guitar) The Du-Rell Family, ("songs to make Nick Cave queasy, Tom Waits waver")."
