King's Cross Journeys is a family festival (with lots of food) around Kings Cross this weekend (28th & 29th September). There are lots of events looking at the Victorian history of the area, with street theatre, workshops, and retro-style street food from some of KERB's traders. & if you fancy something more substantial then The Gilbert Scott, Marcus Wareing's restaurant, will be setting up two pop up areas, Gilbert's Gin Garden and The Gilbert Parlour, offering tasty Gin Cocktails and delicious sweet treats.
"A two day family festival celebrating the gritty history of King’s Cross.
The story of King’s Cross began in the Victorian era. A time of great change for Britain, when King’s Cross hummed with trains, freight an industy.
Join King’s Cross as it explores its past and be plunged into a gritty Victorian experience. With live workshops and installations, King’s Cross Journeys will introduce you to the characters who were a part of its past.
With everyone from chimney sweeps and Beadles to Clairvoyants in sideshow tents and street magicians on hand to immerse you in their world, you will learn about life amongst the freight hub and enjoy surprises and spectacles along the way."
