Boom Burger is popping up at The Dolls House in Hoxton Square for 4 days of burgers with a Caribbean twist (see above). I was in The Dolls House at the weekend, and it's a lovely atmospheric venue, very well run by Adam and his team. Make sure you take a look.
"Caribbean burger concept Boom Burger is set to team up with members club The Dolls House, for a special week-long pop-up on Hoxton Square.
Having grown up in Jamaica, young chef Josh de Lisser’s Boom Burger concept is inspired by the “loud flavours” found in traditional Caribbean cooking, and so plantain fries are served alongside the standard potato variety, house mayo is pepped up with Scotch Bonnets and the traditional chicken burger is replaced by a Jerk Burger, complete with papaya and mango sauce and fried plantain.
Not that there isn’t room for a bit of traditionalism too, the signature Boom Burger consisting of a traditional meat patty topped with cheese and a sticky bacon jam. Quality of ingredients is key, and all Boom Burger meat is organic, sourced from Baron’s Court based butcher, H.G. Walter, while brioche buns are bought in from artisan bakery The Bread Factory.
The latest venture from the Dead Dolls Club, The Dolls House is a private member’s bar set across a spacious three-floor property in a buzzing corner of East London, and for one week only, it will play host to one of the hottest new burger pop-ups in the capital. The collaboration is the latest in a series of pop-ups at the venue, with the club itself existing as a one-year pop-up."
