The Artist Dining Room Presents A 'Williams S Burroughs' Supper Club near Broadway Market

The Artist Dining Room Supper Club is a new project from Guest Projects and Matthew Phelps of Funthyme Dining, aiming to celebrate artists through the medium of food.  First up is beat writer William S Burroughs (The Naked Lunch); future artists will include Louise Bourgeois and David Lynch.

"Yinka Shonibare MBE's project space Guest Projects and chef Matthew Phelps of Funthyme Dining and Events will launch the first of a series of sensory tingling supper clubs which will be much more than just a feast for the palate, but for the eyes, ears, imagination and beyond.
The Friday Launch of The Artist Dining Room supper club will explore the life and works of William Burroughs, through dining, discussion and visual installations, with our host for the occasion Alex Baker. Diners will be in for a BANG!

Menu
The ‘Beet’ Generation -
(Roast heritage beetroots, horseradish mascarpone, tarragon and hazelnuts
A play on words on The Beat Generation. A vibrant, fresh and seasonal starter)
Striped Bass fished from Lake Huron in 1920
The Apple Shot
(Majoun stuffed baked apple, with all the evidence
W S Burroughs famously shot his wife while performing a William Tell style trick. We’d serve a ‘drugless’ Majoun stuffed baked apple but with a used rifle shot lodged within it.)

The Artist Dining Room is the new pop-up supper club at Guest Projects, opening a space where creative minds can engage with the ideas of a well known artist through food.
The Chef Matthew Phelps of Funthyme Dining & Events will create a tailor made menu exploring the fundamental, social and intellectual content of the artists work, through the meal.
In London's East-end artistic hub Yinka Shonibare MBE's Guest Projects space is located along Regents Canal, providing a great space for creative thinkers to socialise around food.
