Ochota Barrels, a winemaker from the Adelaide hills in Australia, is holding a wine dinner on Tuesday 18th September 2018 with Salon at their restaurant in Market Row, an indoor market in Brixton. Tickets are just £30 (or £60 with a wine flight included) from RSVP, and they promise that they will keep the party going next door in the wine shop after the dinner has finished. Don't miss this one!
"Salon is very pround to welcome Taras from Ochota Barrels for a night of stories and glorious wine from the Adelaide Hills, Australia.
The Ochota Barrels tale began on a surf trip, late 2000 along the Mexican west coast in a Volkswagen campervan. A final destination after traveling some of the world’s most amazing wine and surf regions, Taras and Amber Ochota conceived the idea to make beautiful holistic wines back home in South Australia. "We are strongly drawn to and influenced by the small biodynamic producers we came across in the south of France. Organically farmed vineyards planted to earth that is alive, lo-fi technique and picking decisions made purely on natural acidity which hopefully contribute to a wine’s energy and nervous tension" says Taras.
Taras will be pouring the Ochota Barrel wines mostly from magnum, which as everyone knows always tastes better!
Doors open from 6.30pm where guests can enjoy an aperitivo before things kick off*. Then dinner and Ochota Barrel wines starts at 7.30pm sharp.
Once dinner has finished, Taras and the Salon crew will retire to the Wine Store next door and jump on the decks, playing some tunes and pouring some more Ochota Barrel wine by the glass. A comprehensive selection of Ochota Barrel wines will be available for purchase in the Wine Store."
