Oded Oren's East Mediterranean Dishes at Louie Louie in SE17

Louie Louie, the new bar and restaurant at 347 Walworth Road, has a new pop-up from Oded Oren, the Israeli chef who has been cooking around the capital for the last few years, including pop-ups at The Common E2, and Oval Space.  The mediteranean food is perfect for the coming summer - including chargrilled octopus  with greek yoghurt and fennel, and labneh tortellini in a tomato ragù.  It's had fantastic reviews - can't wait to try his food again!

"Tel Aviv born Oren has made his name across the capital at a series of pop-ups, including time at The Common E2 and the Terrace at the Oval Space. The menu will showcase his signature modern Mediterranean cooking, with dishes including chicken hearts with pimenton and cumin, labneh tortellini in a tomato ragù, and chargrilled octopus with greek yoghurt and fennel.
Oren told the Standard: “I want to reach new audiences and introduce new flavours, textures and ways of presenting great simple good quality ingredients at reasonable prices.
“We are working closely with local suppliers, and respecting the local communities, of which there are many in this area.”
Louie Louie opens on Walworth Road, SE17, making a change for the chef, who’s previously been based in the east and north of the capital. He said: “This fantastic part of London is very new to me. There are lots of very open minded residents as well as very established communities from all across the world and bringing my own East Mediterranean style of cooking here is exciting.”"
