Adam Rawson's Japanese Pop-up 'Sakura' at Borough Wines in N1

Award-winning chef Adam Rawson has unveiled a new pop-up, a 12 course Japanese dinner called Sakura, at the Brewery Below space underneath Borough Wines at 344 Essex Road, N1.  Inspired by a recent trip to Japan, the menu will feature izakaya-style dishes designed for sharing, priced at £40, with optional flights of wines, sake, and Japanese beers, curated by Borough Wines' Muriel Chatel.  The dinners run from Thursday to Saturday until 1st April, with a 9 course option also available on the Thursdays (at £30).  Looking forward to this!



"Borough Wines & Beers will launch its chef development series on Thursday 16 March with the esteemed Adam Rawson’s Japanese inspired pop-up - Sakura.
Held at the Brewery Below, a new private dining space and working brewery in Borough Wines' Essex Road (Islington) shop, the pop-up will see the space transformed to celebrate the Japanese cherry blossom season, otherwise known as Sakura.
Adam Rawson, crowned Chef of the Year at The YBFs 2015, has taken inspiration from his recent trip to Japan to create a 12-course menu of inventive dishes. Part of Adam’s “Global Traveller” series, Sakura will feature izakaya-style dishes designed for sharing; including Wagyu Yaki - Negi – Enoki, Onsen Tamago - Tenderstem Broccoli - Katsuobushi and Adzuki Beans - Nashi Pear - yuzu - sweet Miso.
Muriel Chatel, founder of Borough Wines & Beers, has curated a flight of wines, sake and Japanese beer to complement Adam's menu. Attendees can also buy drinks by the glass, choosing from a menu of specially selected wines, Akashi-Tai sakes, Hitachino Nest beers and cocktails including the Nikka from the Barrel Highball and Saketini."
