Soul Food Sisters' Five Week Residency at The King & Co in Clapham

Soul Food Sisters, who cook a fusion of European and Caribbean dishes, have taken over the kitchen at The King & Co in Clapham, serving daily until 2nd april 2017.  Expect Curry Goat, Rice & Peas, Chicken Wings and lots more, plus desserts while at the weekend there is a Saturday brunch, and their take on the Sunday Roast.  I've tried their food before, and Claphamites (& visitors) are in for a treat!

"Sunnier days are coming Clapham, thanks to the bold European and Caribbean-inspired cooking from supperclub sensations Soul Food Sisters and their new kitchen residency at The King & Co. Launching on Monday 27th February and running daily until Sunday 2nd April, the five week popup at the popular independent pub will showcase the sibling duo’s much-loved fun fresh dishes influenced by Caribbean and European flavours, as well as new Saturday brunch specials and Sunday roasts.
Visitors to Soul Food Sisters kitchen takeover at The King & Co can take their pick from flavourful favourites from the team’s successful supperclubs, like their comforting Curry Goat that’s slow-cooked for ten hours with rich mellow heat from scotch bonnets, and served with classic Rice and Peas as well as their irresistible Ginger and Poppyseed Slaw. Offering small plates, hearty mains and bar snacks too, further highlights on the new pub popup menu include the sisters’ secret recipe SFS Fried Chicken Wings with their namesake Perry Perry Sauce and sweet and spicy Pickled Watermelon, and their addictive Rum Jerk Halloumi.
During the daytime on Saturdays, the pair will be cooking up a new menu of brunch dishes with their unique twist, such as Scotch Bonnet Menemen and Sweetcorn Fritters with Poached Eggs, Avocado and Bacon, to set people up for a busy weekend. Hailed as one of Evening Standard’s top 10 boozy brunches in London, pub guests can tuck into Soul Food Sister’s brunch menu accompanied by bottomless Bloody Marys, Cava and selected cask ale for a great value £30 meal package. For Sunday Lunch, diners can enjoy Jerk Roast Chicken that’s perfect for sharing over drinks for a lazy afternoon, making sure to save room for the mouth-watering Chocolate and Rum Cake.
Elly and Becca Perry first started Soul Food Sisters in 2013 as a monthly supperclub in their little one bedroom flat in Tottenham. As word spread the sibling team’s sell-out cosy dinners at home were swapped for larger popups right across the capital, with packed sessions this past year at Craving Coffee in Tottenham, The Dukes Head in Highgate, The Canvas CafĂ© by Brick Lane, and Green Rooms Hotel in Wood Green. Now they’re excited to bring their fresh simple dishes with a generous helping of extra spice and bite to South London and The King & Co, which is well-known for hosting some of the hottest residencies in London."
