Jimmy Garcia, who has been hosting pop-ups around London for over five years, is hosting a 'back to basics' series of nights below a wine shop in Clapham North this March. Now famous for The Lodge, the pop-up fondue restaurant, Jimmy will be returning to Dvine Cellars in Landor Road, SW9 for 4 weeks of Wednesday-Saturday food and wine nights.
Wednesday and Thursday nights will be Burgers & Bordeaux, with wagu beef burgers, at £35 a head, and Fridays & Saturdays will be Tapas and Tempranillo, with multiple small plates, at £40 a head.
"London’s pop-up king, Jimmy Garcia, is going back to his roots this March, announcing a duel-concept residency in the intimate, 25 cover basement of South London’s Dvine Cellars - the cherished location of his first pop up venture outside of his front room.
Jimmy and his team will be rotating the menu throughout March between two exquisite food and wine concepts: ‘Tapas and Tempranillo’ – a contemporary take on his father’s (the aptly named Papa G) most treasured tapas dishes, alongside a menu of Spanish wines – and ‘Burgers and Bordeaux 2.0’ - a straight-up pairing of Wagyu Beef Burgers and Bordeaux finished off with Jimmy’s signature Ice Cream Factory.
Hosted on Friday and Saturday evenings, ‘Tapas and Tempranillo’ (£40 per head) serves-up a delightful twist on authentic tapas dishes, featuring a taster menu including ‘Papa G’s Charcuterie’ from his hometown in Asturias, ‘Huevos Con Morcilla’ – Spanish Black Pudding, topped with soft boiled Duck Egg, Sautéed Mushrooms and Spinach Puree alongside the slightly more carnivorous 'Chuletas De Cordero con Patatas Bravas’ – a Lamb Cutlet, Slow Braised Lamb Shoulder Salsa Verde, Peashoot, Parmentiere Potatoes with a Red Pepper and Honey Emulsion.
Hosted on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, ‘Burgers and Bordeaux 2.0’ (£35 per head) is a no-fuss, no-compromises take on the classic burger paired to half a bottle of hand selected red or white Bordeaux. A selection of canapes on arrival followed by a show-stopping Wagyu Steak Burger, topped with Slow Braised Sticky Beef, Pickled Cabbage, Truffle Mayo, Onion Confit and Salad Relish. To finish off the evening Jimmy invites you to express yourself with his signature Ice Cream Factory – Nutella Ice Cream, Vanilla and Strawberry Sorbet, served with an impressive array of toppings and sauces to build your Sundae your way.
Both dining concepts give guests the option to purchase their wine from the upstairs wine shop and are likely to sell-out extremely fast so guests are asked to book in advance to avoid disappointment."
