The Laksa Kitchen, the Malaysian pop-up in Kentish Town that was one of the hits of the summer, is back at Tolli Cafe for 8 more weeks of Laksa and other delights, this time with a focus on Penang Street food. This time it's open Thursdays to Sundays, with booking recommended!
"I am very excited to tell you that I am bringing back The Laksa Kitchen to Kentish Town for a winter residency from October 28th until December 18th. Chef Lim has been back to Penang over the summer and brought back three really amazing dishes:
Chee Cheong Fun: Steamed Rice Noodles topped with a Sweet Dark Sauce,
Chilli Paste, Sesame Seeds and Dried Shallots
Duck Egg Char Kway Teow: Wok Fried Flat Rice Noodles with Prawns,
Chinese Sausage, Kow Choi, Duck Eggs, Beansprouts, Dark Soy Sauce,
Chilli.
Kuih Seri Muka: Double layered sticky rice dessert topped with pandan custard.
We've also improved our reservations system, increased our walk-in capacity and are also adding Specials so that regular customers can try new dishes now we are here for longer such as Assam Laksa; a regional laksa from Penang. It is a refreshing spicy, sour and more pungent laksa with tamarind, mackerel and a fish stock base."
