"The Detox Kitchen, the London-based group of delis, healthy food products and home delivery service, have announced that they will launch a deli pop-up in Selfridges food hall.
Launching on Thursday 4th August for three months, the deli pop-up will serve a wide range of fresh salads such as Miso Kale and Aubergine, Courgetti with Cashew and Basil Pesto and Sweet Potato with Red Onion, Soya Lemon Yoghurt and Honey Pecans. It will also offer juices, smoothies and baked goods to hungry shoppers. On the menu will be the ‘Super Green Cooler’, a new smoothie exclusive to Selfridges, as well of some of the Detox Kitchen favourites including their best-selling beetroot brownies.
Bridging the gap between healthy and delicious, The Detox Kitchen creates dishes that are free from wheat, dairy and refined sugar, but that are filling, wholesome and delicious, with a focus on using high quality ingredients, from local, sustainable sources. The business, which currently comprises of two delis, a cookbook and a healthy food delivery service, and has acquired a celebrity following, have recently announced ambitious growth plans. After opening her second, flagship deli in Fitzrovia earlier this year, founder Lily Simpson has plans to open up to ten more sites in the next three years after securing £2m investment from London-based investment firm Encore Capital.
Adrian Boswell, buyer at Selfridges, considered to be one of the best department stores in the world and with an excellent reputation as an international hub for young dynamic brands, comments: “I am really excited in regards to the prospect of expanding the work we do with The Detox Kitchen, who I believe share the same ideologies with the Selfridges brand, promoting healthy living via their range of products.”
Lily Simpson, founder of The Detox Kitchen, adds: “I’ve always admired Selfridges and the inspirational, creative brands that the store is home to. Although we’ve stocked our grab-and-go range in the store for some time now, it’s very exciting that we’ve been asked to bring a full range of salads, smoothies and baked goods to the food hall for Selfridges shoppers to enjoy.”"
