Grub Club's Olympic Supper Club Series at Anise Bar near Liverpool Street


The Rio Olympics starts soon, and to mark the event Grub Club has organised a series of supper clubs to celebrate the food of Europe, Asia, Latin American and Africa.  Taking place on Mondays to Wednesdays at Anise Bar at the Cinnamon Kitchen in Devonshire Square, near to Liverpool Street, the chefs are
Representing Europe - That Hungry Chef - 25th - 27th July
Representing Asia - Papi’s Pickles - 1st - 3rd August
Representing South America - Luciana Berry - 8th - 10th August
Representing Africa - Adam Rawson - 15th - 17th August
Tickets cost £40 (£35 for Asia).

"Representing Europe - That Hungry Chef - 25th, 26th & 27th July
Dubbed as one of coolest supper clubs in London, Pratap Chahal - a.k.a. That Hungry Chef - has cooked with the likes of Gordon Ramsay, at Chez Bruce, Cinnamon Club and Galvin Bistrot. His food is inspired by his travels around the world, with a satisfying, humble nod to his traditional Indian roots.
Flying the flag for Europe, Pratap’s Olympic themed menu will showcase delights from Spain, Greece, Britain and France. Think fluffy fennel and oregano bread with creamy Tzatziki and rare rump of lamb with lashings of smoked aubergine purée.

Representing Asia - Papi’s Pickles - 1st, 2nd & 3rd August
Food with the feel good factor. Papi’s Pickles is a family-run social enterprise that not only cooks up delicious Sri Lankan and South Indian fare, the profits go back into the community to help support Sri Lankan women who have relocated to the UK.
Shathini Ramanan is one of the head chefs of the enterprise, and will be moonlighting at Anise, serving up a selection of her warm-hearted South Indian delicacies. Expect hearty Sri Lankan mutton rolls and flakey filo pastries, succulent swordfish sothi and crumbled potatoes cooked in creamymcoconut milk.

Representing South America - Luciana Berry - 8th, 9th ,10th August
Remaining close to her roots, Masterchef Professionals semi-finalist Luciana Berry celebrates her vibrant Brazilian culture by serving up a moreish selection of traditional Latin American cuisine, brimming with exotic ingredients, colours and spices. Some highlights from her mouthwatering menu include elegant ‘Tira-gostos’ - Brazilian sharing platters - and the Brazilian classic Feijoada - a hearty black bean stew with succulent Brazilian rump steak. Not for the fainthearted!

Representing Africa - Adam Rawson - 15th, 16th & 17th August
Working underneath some of London’s most coveted chefs, Adam Rawson is a dab hand when it comes to tantalising tasting menus. Bringing world cuisine back to London with his own signature European twist, expect sumptuous sharing platters of smoked aubergine and harrissa, beef shortrib with prunes, olives and almonds and sweet cinnamon ice cream with black olives and preserved lemon. Mmmm.
Tickets cost £40 for asharing style menu."
