"Award-winning independent Southwark restaurant The Table Café will host Japanese comfort food specialist Fowl Mouths for a sensational new series of popup dinners, launching on Friday 3rd June and running weekly throughout the month.
Following on from her record-breaking pub residency at The King & Co in Clapham and sell-out successful suppers at St. David Coffee House in Forest Hill and The Lido Cafe in Herne Hill, hot culinary talent Melissa Thompson is continuing her tour along South London’s top dining spots and bringing her acclaimed hearty innovative cuisine to the stunning all-day eatery near London Bridge. Celebrated in Time Out, The Telegraph and the Evening Standard, Fowl Mouths is renowned for providing delicious and surprising flavour combinations with a soulful style.
The four course menu for the exciting new Friday night kitchen takeovers at The Table Café will showcase many of Fowl Mouths’ infamous signature creations marrying unmistakable Japanese flavours with comfort food classics, such as her irresistible Teriyaki Chilli Wings, addictive Kara-age Chicken with Wasabi Coleslaw, and luxurious Chocolate Sesame Ball with Matcha Ice Cream. Diners will also be able to enjoy an array of delightful Japanese-inspired delicacies ideal for welcoming in Summer, ranging from vibrant Asparagus with Yuzu Hollandaise to Melissa’s mouth-watering Ginger and Sake Pork Hirata Bun and creamy Cherry Sencha Panna Cotta.
Crowned the Best Restaurant in Waterloo and Southwark in Time Out’s Love London Awards in 2015, The Table Café is one of the hidden gems of the Southbank. Shaun Alpine-Crabtree co-founded the much-loved neighbourhood eatery nearly a decade ago and has been at the helm ever since, serving up satisfying dishes prepared in-house using quality ingredients carefully selected from nearby Borough Market and around Britain. A two star rating from the Sustainable Restaurant Association is proof of Shaun’s commitment to sustainable and ethical sourcing.
This month’s new series of Friday evening popup dinner collaborations with Fowl Mouths’ sits alongside The Table Café’s popular all-day dining menu, which allows fans of the independent restaurant’s award-winning weekend brunch to get their fix of Shaun’s contemporary interpretations of breakfast favourites from early morning until the afternoon, seven days a week."
