Flavours of Spain, who trade regularly at both Brockley Market and Southbank Centre Food Market, have opened a pop-up Pintxos bar at Number 57 gallery and art space on Loampit Hill, near Lewisham and St John's stations in SE13. During the day it's a deli, but from the early evening until 10pm (10.30 on Fridays & Saturdays) it becomes a Pintxos bar with tapas and small plates, and lots of Spanish artisan wines available by the glass or bottle. It's open Weds - Sun until the end of August - please support them!
"We are a small Spanish deli by day, with an offering of artisan produced Spanish cheeses, charcuterie, small-producer wines, including organic and biodynamic, fresh, local, artisan bread and more, all of which is available to take home. Alternatively, come in, sit back and relax and enjoy a light lunch offering of pintxos and boards partnered with some of Spain's best artisan wines available by the glass. You may want to do both of course! no problem.
From early evening onwards we extend our offering of pintxos and boards to include some tasty tapas, using beautiful herbs from @cookoobox those incredible heritage tomatoes from @WildOrganic and pickled fennel by @vadaszdeli all of which can be found @brockleymarket - and with a weekly changing menu there will always be something new to try! Come alone, or with friends.
During the evening, wherever possible, we are also happy to serve you deli produce to take home, so if you've enjoyed a wine and and a bite to eat and decide you'd like to take something home with you, or you just want to pop in on the way home from work for a couple of bits, no problem. Will will accomodate as best we can. We are a very small team and in order to be as flexible as possible we made need you to be a little patient should we be very busy during the evening.
We've also got some incredible extra virgin olive oil, fire-roasted red peppers, Galician fish & seafood conservas, raw honey and Gordal olives you may want to try stacked up on the deli shelf and we've also sourced and have on order ready for next week some very exciting new cheeses joining the table.
