Campo Viejo's 2015 Streets of Spain Festival on the South Bank

Campo Viejo's 'Streets of Spain' festival is back on the South Bank for the first May Bank Holiday of 2015, running Friday 1st - Monday 4th.  The area under Queen Elizabeth Hall, and the area around it, will be converted into a mini Spain with a Boqueria food market, a Plaza Mayor, with live music, and some bookable 'Blend Your Own Wine' masterclasses -  which were amazingly popular last year.  Sounds like a reason for a celebration...

"Campo Viejo’s Streets of Spain is returning to London’s Southbank on May 1, and with over 300,000 guests descending on the riverside last year, 2015 promises to be bigger and better than ever before.
At this year’s Streets of Spain, Campo Viejo, the UK’s  no.1 Spanish wine brand, is creating a unique interactive experience to discover what it’s like to be able to ‘hear’ taste.
In a world first collaboration with renowned synaesthete Nick Ryan, guests will be able to participate in the Campo Viejo Soundscape – a profoundly immersive audio experience that translates the sensations of enjoying Campo Viejo into sound.
Together, Campo Viejo and Nick are seeking to explore the relationship between taste and sound, and aim to achieve a new, entirely sensory way of describing the flavour of the wine without reading a word of a traditional tasting note. You won’t believe your ears.
This year’s Streets of Spain is split into three neighbourhoods, each offering guests a different flavour of Spain.
Explore the hustle and bustle of Las Ramblas and sample the delicious delicacies on offer from Barcelona’s world famous La Boqueria market. From delicious paella to succulent cured meats or freshly prepared hot churros, every taste is catered for. It’s a Spanish food lover’s delight.
Visit Madrid’s popular Plaza Mayor and be treated to live music performances from an eclectic mix of DJs and musicians, and get some of that fiesta feel.
And finally, be transported to LogroƱo, home of Campo Viejo, where back by popular demand are last year’s sell-out Blend Your Own Wine masterclasses. The class is led by two of Campo Viejo’s most experienced winemakers. Classes are small and intimate, with four classes running per day over the weekend. Tickets can be purchased in advance or on the day. Also new to the area are colourful art installations from urban artists, Okuda & Remed."
