United Ramen, who started off doing pop-ups, and now have their own permanent restaurant at 105-106 Upper Street N1, is holding a special, ticketed Thanksgiving dinner this year at the restaurant. Taking place on Thursday 27th November it will feature turkey (as you'd expect), with cranberry and lots of other good things. Tickets are just £20 - full details below.
"We have settled into our new home and thought it was time to host another Grub Club with a special Thanksgiving Turkey Ramen on Thursday 27th November. In keeping with our ethos, we have created a mash-up between the traditional US Thanksgiving meal and our ramen. Our menu is based on Aaron's (our founder) family Thanksgiving meal originating from Pennsylvania Dutch cooking.
We've developed a new turkey tare (Japanese sauce) to mix with our chicken bone broth to create some turkey goodness. We'll be topping that with turkey leg ballotine, cranberry sauce, ginger soy runner beans, braised shiitake mushrooms, spicy sweetcorn, turkey gravy and fried sage. On the side we're having teriyaki sweet potato plus potato, onion and celery rostis with a katsu sauce. We're also bringing in some special holiday mochi for the occasion. All for just £20!
At United Ramen we love to eat, to share our culinary experiences with others and to connect with people through our food. We believe that Ramen is a natural platform for cultural mash-ups, so our dishes have been created using traditions inspired by Japan and infused with different cultural flavours.
R-Amen!"
