"Skandilicious are proud to present the opening of its Swedish Christmas Restaurant & Bar in the Old Guardian Media Building in Farringdon. During the 6 weeks leading up to Christmas, this pop-up is set to immerse guests in a Swedish Christmas experience with food & drink as its central theme, but with a lot more to it than you would first imagine.
Occupying the lower ground floor of the old HQ of the Guardian, the space will be transformed to a Scandi style Christmas haven for the occasion. Expect fir branches, softly lit Christmas stars, winter apples and rosy cheeks in abundance.
A traditional Swedish “Julbord” (that’s the Christmas version of a Smörgåsbord) with all the customary dishes as well as a few contemporary additions will be served for lunch & dinner between the 14th November and 21st December. Guests will be able to withdraw to the comfortable and cosy Loft Bar post their meal, where Fredrik Olsson, previously voted London’s Best Bartender, has created an exclusive cocktail menu using seasonal ingredients.
‘We’re thrilled to bring to life a long-term dream of creating a Swedish Christmas experience in London,’ said Maria Trechman, Co-Founder of Swedish Christmas.
‘The Julbord is a much loved Swedish tradition that we are proud and excited to be bringing to London this autumn, and we are hoping to delight our guests by offering them a Christmas dining experience that is just that little bit sweder’."
