Fairground & Billetto's Makers' Market & Workshops Day in Haggerston


Fairgound in Kingsland Road and Billetto, the ticketing agency, are holding a massive 'Makers' day on Saturday 6th December, featuring a makers market, lots of craft classes - e.g. Get Rich or Tie Dyeing' - plus food from Ben Spalding, cocktails, music and more.  Essential for crafters!

"Fairground London and Billetto will launch ‘Makers’, a one-day event on Saturday 6th December, which will celebrate the very best maker talent across music, food, drinks and retail. Housed in Fairground’s temporary home in a disused office block in Haggerston, a bespoke programme for both day and night will showcase the very best thinkers and tinkerers for a jam packed taste of the makers movement.
Each level by day will have a distinctive theme, starting at Level One will be a Makers Market, showcasing some of the best artisanal creators, artists, producers and brands. The Makers Lounge on Level Two will provide an opportunity for physical exploration with a diverse programme of workshops to get you making.  Top floor and the Makers Kitchenon Level Three will see a carefully crafted menu by critically acclaimed chef Ben Spalding including some ingredients selected by Hackney Hampers. Makers Night will see the ground floor switch up to a line up of talks, live bands and DJs supported with drinks, food and beats to while away the evening.
Makers Market by day on Level One will feature 15 cherry-picked stallholders that represent the best in handcrafted talented across the capital; including handmade tweed products by London’s only micro-mill London Cloth Company, a takeaway deli featuring hand crafted produce from across the borough curated by Hackney Hamper and east London’s leading illustrative shop Nobrow featuring some of the talented artists in books, prints and other fine collectables.
Makers Lounge will present a series of 18 different workshops from innovative papers crafts with paper ninja Poppy Chancellor,Get Rich or Tie-Dying the brand new inventive workshop with Lizzie King or get green fingered creating your very own indoor terrarium or plant biosphere with Botanic Boutique. Not forgetting mini-makers, there will be plenty of making activities for children provided by Victoria Park Books and Bloomsbury Children’s Books, Ruff & Huddle and BKD cupcakes.
Underpinning all activity will be a fantastic food & drink offering, with top chef talent Ben Spalding create a seasonal menu priced between £4-£8 on Floor 3. Dishes include Black Hand Pork Belly cooked in Dalston coca cola, Plaice and chips, Yukon gold potatoes, lemon mayonnaise or Whipped mince pie, Butler gin syrup with brandy ice-cream.
Floor 2 will see a bespoke a whiskey and meat pairing menu in association with Jack Daniels, Gentlemen Jack, Woodford Reserve and Southern Comfort.
For additional cheer, signature hot cocktails will be created by the Fairground drinks team to match the delicious dessert bar created by the best in class Hackney bakery Yolk, the warming sweet menu that includes S’mores - graham crackers, a layer of grated chocolate, marshmallow and Poached pears with spiced chocolate sauce on Floor 1.
Or why not match your cocktail and listening experience with vinyl aficionados Vinyl Me, Please at the vinyl and cocktail pairing listening station. The U.S. based vinyl members clubs will debut in London at the Makers event to showcase how you should be listening to your music."
