"Join us for the second night of delicious local fare, at Dalston’s pre-eminent night spot: the Vortex Jazz Bar. The team at Vegan Vortex will pop-up, prepare, and serve up a delectable three-course gluten free and vegan menu! The dishes provide a slice of ethical goodness- bringing joy and nourishment to both soul and digestive tract.
Our existing patterns of food production are not fit for a low-carbon, resource constrained future. And yet, because of the globalisation of our food supplies in recent years, it is not always easy to buy locally produced food on the high-street. Vegan Vortex supports local growing communities in East London as they take steps to safeguard the future of our existence, by sourcing its organic produce from Stoke Newington Farmer’s Market.
So come along and try some veg grown in Hackney!
Chef Emily Stephenson has previously worked at the Wild Food Café in Covent Garden, and is excited to be bringing her mouth-watering meat-free fare to the East End.

The menu for 10th September is as follows:
STARTER
Roasted butternut squash, marinated red onions, green
lentils, green mustard dressing, pine nuts
MAIN
Gluten free ravioli with a sun-dried tomato,
artichoke and mushroom filling in a creamy garlic sauce, almond Parmesan
DESSERT
Fluffy chocolate mousse, red wine poached pear,
Chantilly whipped cream, hazelnut crumble"
