The Cider Box (earlier) is back for a first birthday celebration, and the start of a new monthly residency, on the last Saturday of each month at The Old Ship Inn just off Mare Street, E8. For the first event on 27th September they've teamed up with Raw Cheese Power to offer a cider and cheese tasting, with tickets at £20 each. Otherwise entry to the event is free.
"The first party, on 27th September sees the return of the ‘Raw Cheese Power’ team, O Toma O Morte (cheese or death), for a cider & cheese taste off round the dinner table, going through 6 finely crafted ciders expertly paired with 6 of the finest cheeses known to man. With some surprises for good measure. There is also brilliant music from Gemma Rogers & The Milmen[http://gemandthemilmen.com/], Nigel Burch and the Fleapit Orchestra [https://www.facebook.com/pages/Nigel-Burch-and-the-Flea-Pit-Orchestra/224774867612790], and more guests to be announced. Oh and there is a late license too.
The fun starts at 1pm, and goes through til 1am, free in all day. A place at the table for The cider vs cheese taste explosion is £20 a ticket and goes from 6-8pm."
