Next week - 22nd - 27th September - Australia House is playing host to a pop-up restaurant, featuring different chefs each night. For example Luke Rayment from Queensland on Wednesday 24th:
"Rayment won a string of awards and medals early in his career, including Rising Young Chef of Queensland in 2001. In 2006, he moved to London and became Head Chef at Top Floor at Smith's of Smithfield, before becoming Sous-Chef at the renowned Savoy Grill. In 2012, he took the role of Head Chef at Gordon Ramsay at Claridge's, and is currently Executive Chef at the soon to open Mondrian Hotel in London." Tickets aren't cheap - £100 per night - but the standard of chefs and food & wine is incredibly high.
"We believe Australia is the greatest restaurant in the world and from September 22nd through 27th 2014 we are giving you a chance to experience it for yourself. For six nights only Australia House will transform into a pop up restaurant, showcasing the very best in Australian food and wine produce.
What does the night include?
Along with exclusive access into the stunning Australian High Commission in London, guests will enjoy sparkling Australian wine and beers on arrival and an incredible three course meal created by a top Australian chef. Each delicious dish will be inspired by holiday memories of a specific region in Australia and matched with fine Australian wines, selected by Master of Wine Justin Knock.
During the night guests will have the chance to take part in a Q&A session with the chef and other Friends of Australia to learn more about the country’s mouth-watering food and wine, extraordinary holiday experiences and more.
