The Mosaic Rooms in SW5 has another supper club planned, this time on Thuresday 28th August, with guest chef Anissa Helou, who will be cooking a 3 course, Syrian inspired meal. The supper club will take place in a gallery showing photos of Mediterranean from their current exhibition, My Sister Who Travels. Tickets selling fast - don't miss out!
"The Mosaic Rooms are delighted to present a very special supper club with celebrated chef and author Anissa Helou.
Helou will host a Syrian inspired summer supper club with a delicious menu celebrating the food from this region of the Levant. At this supper club she will also introduce guests to the common culinary threads in the Levant. With stories and discussions guests will have the opportunity to learn about and sample the authentic taste of region.
Anissa Helou was born, the daughter of a Syrian father and a Lebanese mother, in Beirut. She has travelled extensively around the Mediterranean and has always taken a strong interest in the food of the Levant. Helou is a food writer, journalist, broadcaster, blogger and the author of numerous award-winning cookbooks including Levant; The Fifth Quarter; An Offal Cookbook; Modern Mezze; Savory Baking from the Mediterranean; Mediterranean Street Food; Café Morocco; and Lebanese Cuisine.
Helou has been hosting small supper clubs in her kitchen since Shubbak festival. This event will take place at The Mosaic Rooms in our main exhibition room surrounded by the photographs of the Mediterranean in our current exhibition My Sister Who Travels. A fitting location considering Helou started her career as Sotheby’s representative for the Middle East!"
