I think this has to be the earliest pop-up I've ever written about: On Weds 9th July Breakfast With Charles aka Charlie Hall, is taking over the Hackney Hardware op-up wine bar for the day to serve breakfast from 7am, and then run the kitchen the whole day, doing lunch and dinner. If you're going at 7am it would be best to get in touch with Charlie first - would be a nightmare if you got there and it was full - but it's walk-ins after that.
"Hello Breakfasters
Breakfast with Charles is going back to its roots... kind of... we are very excited to announce we'll be running a pre-work breakfast on Wednesday 9 July at Hackney Hardware on Hackney Road (493 Hackney Road), just like the old days of BWC. This will be followed by an all day food takeover of this super cool ex-hardware store, now a popup bar run by our lovely friends, Charlie and China. Yes, you heard it right... BWC branches out into non-breakfast delights... throughout the day we'll be serving a small menu of seasonal sharing plates to compliment HH's ace drinks list. If all goes to plan there'll be some live music and general frivolity in the evening.
This will probably be our only 7am breakfast this summer so we'd love to get a big crowd along... time to set the alarms early. We'll be offering a small selection of breakfast dishes to cater to all tastes. There'll be the healthy option of our now infamous homemade granola with fruit salad and a couple of more substantial, not quite so healthy dishes. We'd love to get an idea of numbers so please let us know if you're planning on coming down. Breakfast will be served all morning for those of you not so pressed to get to work on a Wednesday morning.
The rest of the day will see us take control of the kitchen, providing a compact menu of summer inspired sharing plates. Pop by whenever for lunch or dinner and some cocktails. We will release more details of the menu on facebook (https://www.facebook.com/breakfastwithcharles) in the run up to the event but, for now, stick it in your diary. We also hope to announce details of live music for the evening but more details of that soon.
