In Mid April The Trainee Chef, the new alternative chef school, is organising a night in Hackney where you can learn to cook with pop-up hosts Russian Revels, and then eating the food with a wine pairing created by A Grape Night In. Full details below and menu below:
"The Trainee Chef presents….An experiential evening of cooking authentic and contemporary Russian Cuisine! Ever wanted to know how to make pelmeni? Sample Salo with Russian vodka? We will be partnering with the Russian Revels, two charming revolutionaries who are transforming the image of Eastern-Europe in London by bringing together chic dining and immersive theatre.
For this evening, we will be teaching you to bring to life elements of traditional Russian cuisine and contemporary twists to produce a feast that you will eat with your fellow classmates, in the inspiring setting of our Russian Dacha.
The evening will cover:
Eating and learning about Russian Salo, accompanied with charcoal biscuits
Learning to cook Salmon a la Kiev; Pelmeni (Russian dumplings); Badam Buri (walnut, sugar and cardamom pastries) and Baltic Truffles
Dining with your fellow trainee chefs for the evening and enjoying some wine, paired for your meal by the girls from 'A Grape Night in'
This will be a hands on class, but with a fun experiential twist!"
