Regular hosts The Art of Dining are back with maybe their most ambitious project yet - an eight day series of 5 course dinners themed around the work of photographer Martin Parr, within an exhibition of his work. It starts on Wednesday 19th March, and then runs from Wednesday - Saturday for two weeks. In addition to the dinners you can also buy a ticket just to attend the exhibition and drink in the bar. This one's going to be very memorable!
"The Art of Dining brings you ‘Say Cheese’: a unique photo-culinary experience combining a photography exhibition with a pop-up restaurant and bar, inspired by the work of Martin Parr.
We are delighted to be collaborating with one of Britain’s most esteemed photographers to take the concept of the exhibition to a whole new level: the photography hanging on the walls will be recreated on plates, in glasses, and all around for this very special event.
Chef Ellen Parr will put food from Martin’s photography directly onto the dinner plate, recreating a five-course meal like for like. But while the dishes will remain faithful to Martin’s work, looks may deceive as Ellen playfully inverts sweet and savoury, and explores flavours and spices from around the world.
Set designer Alice Hodge will transform a former library in Hoxton into the resplendent world of Martin Parr – kitsch, humorous and quintessentially British. The venue will be split into the dining room and ‘The Lipman Members Bar:' a fully stocked bar serving retro-classic cocktails - as seen in Martin’s photography - and complete with chintzy carpet, sofas, a retro television, tombola, games, and more!
Come and experience Martin Parr's photography in a completely new way."
