James Ramsden runs a very exclusive supper club from his home. Whenever I've looked at his site it's been booked up for months in advance, but now you can taste his food at a series of special Tuesday night events at a cafe near his home in December. Tickets are just £37 (£22 deposit payable in advance) and for that you get four courses, and BYOB with no corkage. Do it!
"Arguably, James Ramsden's Secret Larder supper-club is London's most exclusive ticket in town. In order to secure a seat at one of his hearty seasonal 4-course dinners, potential guests are asked to perform a series of life-defying challenges, do a little jig and stand on one leg whilst rubbing their tummies and patting their heads (aka apply for a ballot system). LUCKILY however, he's just decided to grant Grub Club 10 tickets per event for diners to book challenge-free!
The Secret Larder is about good food and good company. Based on the Holloway Road and hosted by the author of 'Small Adventures in Cooking,' Guardian food writer & Radio 1 broadcaster, James Ramsden. Every Tuesday night James and co. serve a hearty seasonal 4-course dinner for 20 guests who get to bring along bottle of their favourite (with no corkage). Simple as that.
Expect to eat a sumptuous 4-course dinner, plus a welcome drink, superb coffee made by Vagabond, and homemade chocolate truffles."
When - Tuesdays - 3rd, 10th & 17th December, 7.30pm - 10.30pm
Where - Vagabond, 105 Holloway Road, N7 8LT
Tickets - £22 deposit from Grub Club here & then a further £15 on the night
