"A seven course Italian Sunday feast celebrating the food and culture of two iconic regions, Campania and Lazio.
Hosted by Cristiano Meneghin (A.K.A. Tongue 'N Cheek) at the Pizza Pilgrims' Dean Street pizzeria.
Menu
Welcome Aperitivo
Antipasti
Pizza slice with lardo and rosemary - Pizza Pilgrims dough topped with cured lardo from Colonnata, distinctive for it’s sweet and balanced taste.
Puntarelle alla romana - Italian winter chicory dressed with anchovies, garlic creamy sauce, extra virgin olive oil and a dash of grape vinegar. As good and simple as it sounds.
Treccia di bufala - Artisan whole Buffalo mozzarella twist served with cherry tomato confit. A buffala so good as to redefine your whole concept of mozzarella.
Salsiccia and friarielli - Turnip tops "Cime di Rapa" sautéed with garlic, chilly and Italian sausage. A rustic, simple, mouth-wateringly traditional, Neapolitan dish.
Primo
Ragù genovese Napoletano - Neapolitan slow cooked beef and pork ragù served with candle-shaped durum wheat pasta sourced from the famous pasta making town of Gragnano. Every family in Naples has a secret recipe for this dish and we're no different.
Secondo
Porchetta Romana - free range pork belly from native breeds, slow roasted for 6 hours until just perfect. Served with scratchings, potatoes roast in spicy extra virgin olive oil with sage, rosemary & garlic and sweet and sour baby onions. After you try this porchetta, you’ll have a hard time eating regular pulled pork.
Dolce
“Cabarret di paste” - a selection of tarts and cakes. Be prepared to share (or fight over) your favourite one. All desserts custom made by the award winning patissier Poppy & Sebastian.
Seasonal fruits and dried nuts to share.
Moka coffee to finish.
Last, but not least...
All the meat for the event will be supplied by nose-to-tail butcher Nathan Mills of The Butchery. This means only grass fed beef from native breeds, dry aged to perfection, as well as free range pork from native breeds - all sourced from local producers.
Drinks available from the Pizza Pilgrims' bar."
