Mama Brown's is a combined art, fashion and food pop-up running from 26th November to 15th December on the King's Road, featuring vintage clothing, lots of stalls from artists and designers, and a Middle Eastern-inspired cafe with Miro's Love Bites.
"Mama Brown’s Pop-Up Experience is back, taking over an old Victorian postal sorting warehouse on London’s infamous King’s Road. Visited by Zara Martin, a slew of Made in Chelseaers and top media last time around, the next edition anticipates a footfall of over 7,000 visitors.
Designed to capture the Christmas retail period, the edgy living room-esque emporium – decked out in specially curated graffiti, aims to combine art, fashion and food all under one roof. Produced by Suzi Brown – a pioneer of one of Notting Hill’s first ever vintage shops – the exclusive three-week event will serve up a total of 72 carefully handpicked emerging and established designers and artists from all over the world, alongside an organic feast homemade everyday by the founder herself.
"Growing up in a blend of Middle Eastern cultures, the kitchen was the soul of our house,” explains founder, Suzi. “It was here that I learned to appreciate the finer things in life: good food, and later fashion and art. Much like my own home, Mama Brown’s Pop-Up Experience brings all these things together. I'd love to invite the whole of London around to my house, but I can't fit everyone in so I've got a warehouse in Chelsea instead.”
True to Mama Brown’s tradition, the menu - prepared by Mama Brown and her kitchen partner Mirielle Masri of Miro's Love Bites, will encompass home-cooked Middle Eastern treats inspired by her childhood pantry; whilst lounge-style sofas invite guests to sit back, relax under hanging globes of perfect lighting and take advantage of a fully functional bar boasting Champagne, HECSAU Cognac Café and Imperial Collection Gold Vodka – all provided by luxury product specialists Signature Lifestyles, as well as a premium selection of red and white wines.
A DJ will be spinning tracks to the eclectic mix of exhibitors who are travelling far and wide to participate in Mama Brown’s renowned Chelsea event. Stands will include millinery from Piers Atkinson, accessories and clothing from Funky Bling and Year Zero, fine jewellery courtesy of Tateossian, cashmere from Tania, luxury men’s leather accessories via Mark/Giusti, ready-to-wear from Saudi Arabia’s Nasiba Hafiz, flowering headbands from Floronets, furniture from DN Design, and clothing, shoes and jewellery from The Village Bicycle. Mama Brown will be dipping into her own private art collection to decorate the space, and of course if anyone sees anything from the collection that they would like to purchase, well…everything is for sale.
Mama Brown’s Pop-Up Experience was founded by Suzi Brown in 2013. Succeeding a hugely successful launch at London’s 54 Russell Gardens, Kensington in June 2013, the event is back by popular demand. Previous to this, Suzi ran a vintage shop on Ledbury Road, Notting Hill called The Hive. The business was operational for six years. Suzi is an avid art collector, gourmet cook and London’s ultimate hostess."
