Food Events at The Kitchen Clinic, off Carnaby Street


The Kitchen Clinic is hosting a number of events in September at its space in Kingly Court, just off Carnaby Street, featuing a variety of different chefs and foodies, including A Grape Night In.

Chocolate Tasting and Chocktail Mixing Workshop with Ubuntu Chocolate
A guided tasting of single origin and artisan chocolate recipes followed by making your own chocolate cocktail concoctions from a variety of liqueurs, spices and fresh fruit.
The workshop will include tasting some of the finest chocolate from around the world followed by a short introduction to the chocolate making process. There will then be a chocktail making demonstration before you get stuck in and make, and of course drink your own creations.

When - Saturday 7th September 2013, 3-5pm

Iraqi Themed Morning Feast with World Brunch Club
Jessie Levene and Francesca Ter-Berg invite you to join them at World Brunch Club for an Iraqi themed morning feast.
With a background in music and media (Francesca is a cellist and Jessie is a radio journalist) they are inspired by their love of travel, music and fresh and vibrant vegetarian food from around the world. The theme for this brunch is Iraqi and includes dishes such as Sabich (pita stuffed with roasted aubergine, tahini and fresh mango pickle), Bamiah (sweet and sour okra stew) and Timman Jazar (wild rice with baked carrots and spices). The morning will consist of a 3 course set menu including hot and cold non-alcoholic drinks, plus live music from a talented musician.

When - Sunday 8th September 11am for an 11.30am start – ends at 1.30pm

Chocolate Tapas Evening with Ubuntu Chocolate
Enjoy a selection of delicious tapas dishes infused with hints of chocolate. Taking our influence from a variety of global cuisines and flavours we’ll be serving up six different savoury and sweet tapas dishes. They’ll also be some chocolate themed games and a guided chocolate tasting of single origin and artisan chocolate recipes.

A Grape Night In presents Vin Yard
If you're heading out with friends on Saturday the 21st September, take a stroll down to our pop-up garden of wine in Kingly Court (just off Carnaby Street). Stop by the 'Garden shop' for a bottle to take home, or stop in 'the Nursery' for a tasting from the wine gardens.  To guarantee your place simply book tickets below. Limited space will be available for walk-ins.
Pre-booked tickets includes a welcome cocktail on arrival and your choice of 'garden' flight (please see choices below) of 3 wines with matched small plates straight from the garden created by Chef Jay Morjaria from Sutra Kitchen.
Included in the tickets price is a cocktail on arrival, and you choice of 'garden' flight of 3 wines with paired canapes.

The Tropical Garden - Take a wander through this lush garden of deliciously ripe and fruity wines.
The English Garden - Slow down and smell the flowers with a meander through this floral bunch of wines.
The Vegetable Patch - Get your hands dirty with these savoury and herbaceous selection of wines.
The Secret Garden - Find hidden gems as you take a walk through the secret garden of one-of-a-kind wines, normally not seen.

When - Saturday 21st September, 6pm  - 9pm

Learn to Bake Bread with Virtuous Bread
Jane Mason, author of All You Knead is Bread and The Book of Buns, will give a four hour bread course that is perfect for beginners and advanced bakers alike.  In this class we will learn to bake both sweet and savoury bread and buns that are perfect for enhancing a healthy diet.  Learn to make stuffed and rolled buns as well as work with sticky dough that comes with added scalded grains or other enriching ingredients.  The class costs 70 pounds per person and includes lunch and plenty of bread to take home.

When - Tuesday 24th September, 11am-3pm

Advanced Vegetarian Mexican Cooking Class hosted by Supper at Tiffany's
Join us at Sutra Kitchen in Soho for an afternoon learning to make Mexican dishes that are rarely seen in London. We'll make tamales in corn husks. This is a delicious Mexican dish that is often considered difficult to make. We'll discuss where to get the ingredients and reveal all the secrets.
You'll learn how easy it is to make fresh cheese and we'll fry up some gorditas to top with cheese. I will also give a demo on my easy to make chile chocolate truffles.

When - Saturday 28th September 2-5pm

One Pot Wonders- Herb Workshop with Growing Kultur & Sutra Kitchen
As part of the Urban Food Fortnight, Sutra Kitchen, has paired up with local growers, Growing Kultur to celebrate and explore one of our best allies in the kitchen: herbs.
Using herbs is one of the easiest ways to transform simple dishes into sensational ones. Herbs are also one of the easiest things to grow in the confines of the city..
