This is a great idea - a regular Sunday bar without alcohol, but with great food and live DJs. It starts on Sunday in Netil House, and runs every Sunday for the summer from 11am - 10pm. A permanent residency in West London is also coming soon.
"These days it’s hard to get away from booze - you can’t even go to the cinema without being offered a glass of wine. Sometimes you want a night away from the booze but still a night out…introducing Redemption; London’s first alcohol-free bar movement. Redemption is a space away from temptation that still feels like a treat - challenging the convention that people need alcohol to lubricate every social occasion.
Redemption launches with a series of residencies in like-minded spaces. The first is on Netil House rooftop in Bethnal Green (Netil 360) for ten summer Sundays, starting 21st July 2013. On 8th September, Redemption will open a second, permanent residency within Goldfinger Factory, a new furniture upcycling social enterprise in Trellick Tower on Golbourne Road.
Redemption has enlisted the culinary expertise of Head Chef Jayne Totty, a nutritional therapist who specialises in producing raw food recipes that lock in the ingredient’s nutrients and enzymes. Using this insight and expertise, Jayne has devised a unique and innovative menu including scrumptious deserts and classy mocktails.
Visitors to Redemption will be treated to chilled daytime tunes from live DJs with special guests yet to be announced.
Rather than preaching to people about their lifestyles, Redemption provides an alternative to a night out, without having a night off, whilst poking fun at the national pastime of overindulgence along the way. Redemption asks of its guests, is it possible to have fun without booze, to have a ‘pure’ party?"
