Bookstock 8 Literary Night near Great Portland Street

Bookstock is an occasional but regular literary night featuring 4 authors reading and talking about their work.  It's organised by the very well established North London Reading Group.  Their last event (Bookstock 7) was back in January, in the same venue, and this time there's a book swap too, so bring along a book or two to swap.

"We've got a corking line-up. The very entertaining author and Booktrust blogger Matt Haig will both compere and read from his brand new novel 'The Humans', which Chocolat author Joanne Harris has described as "a kind of Curious Incident meets The Man Who Fell to Earth" and looks set to be one of this Summer's reads.
He will be joined by:
* MH Baylis - author of Ally Pally-set crime novel and paean to London 'A Death at the Palace'
* Lane Ashfeldt - short fiction author of 'Saltwater', a collection of stories inspired by the sea
* Liz Harris - author of 'The Road Back' an epic set in London and the Himalayas in the 1950s & 1990s
* Seki Lynch - poet who will perform some of his powerful, louche verse
We are popping-up again in the Green Man pub in NW1, which is very handily opposite Great Portland Street tube station. We'll be running a bookswap, so people can swap books while meeting new like minded souls over a glass of wine or ale, and there will be chances to win prizes and get signed copies of the books."

When - Saturday 18th May, from 7pm

Where - The Green Man, 383 Euston Rd, London, NW1 3AU

Tickets - £6 in advance from here, £7 on the door
