This February oyster specialists (& very creative company namers!) The Mother Shuckers take over The Muse Gallery in Portobello Road for one night only for a night of oysters and whisky, in collaboration with the Nikka Japanese Whisky Distillery. This event is arranged by our friends at Grub club.
"The Mother Shuckers are hosting a series of oyster tasting nights. Last month's club was a match made in heaven... Oysters meet Sake. This month we've got something a bit more dark and stormy... it's Oysters meet Whisky. And not just any Whisky... this time it's the Japanese kind!
On Feb 21st we are linking up with the Nikka Japanese Whisky Distillery to bring you a night of sweet and smokey, malt and salty and warming boozey delights.
A bit about our tasting nights... With such a wide selection of oysters to choose from right here in the UK, each month we pair up 3 of our favorite oyster pics with our chosen booze of the month. Oysters from each region in the UK are matched up with a different booze selection, to bring out the best in both worlds. The Mother Shuckers will briefly walk you through the various regions our oysters come from, giving you a bit of background on the differences that give each oyster variety their unique flavours and texture. The same will be done with our booze selection, and we'll have a special guest at each event walk us through a tasting of the featured booze of the night.
These nights are for everyone! The Mother Shuckers like to keep things fresh, educational, fun, accessible and down right delicious."
