The New Craftsmen's Pop-up Shop in Mayfair

Cushions from “The Chromascope Series” by Ptolemy Mann

A pop-up shop for unique crafted items, open from 3rd December, plus some talks, events and demonstrations.

"The New Craftsmen celebrates beautiful examples of craftsmanship from across the British Isles, including home wares, furnishings, jewellery, fine art and accessories! The initiative represents much more than simply ‘preserving the last remnants of disappearing traditions’ and the team ‘believe passionately that beautiful, well-made objects that stand the test of time are now more important than ever.’
We are really excited to learn that some amazing examples of the crafts they have discovered and championed will be available from a lovely pop up space in London’s Mayfair. Open Monday 3rd December – Saturday 15th December, the space will showcase a range of limited edition pieces, one-off designs and bespoke items that can be made to order. The mission of The New Craftsmen is to connect heritage products with modern day consumers whilst nurturing and supporting skilled craftspeople, many of whom will be demonstrating their trades on the ground floor of the space! This will give visitors a rare and privileged opportunity to see and lean about the materials and processes behind the production of some beautiful objects. The New Craftsmen will also play host to a series of exciting events throughout December, including talks by weaver Ptolemy Mann, furniture maker Gareth Neal and stitcher Rosalind Wyatt, as well as demonstrations from Mr Smith’s Letterpress, glassblower Michael Ruh, and lino printer Cameron Short."
