Sager and Wilde's Wine Thursdays in Shoreditch

Sager and Wilde (Michael and Charlotte) are hosting wine nights in a former bank vault in Shoreditch on Thursday nights until Christmas.  Expect very nice wines, cheese, meat and bread.  Lovely!

Update - August 2013 - They've now announced a permanent bar.  Well done!

"We’re doing it again. We're removing premium wines from their restaurant context and outrageous mark-ups, by rocking them out by the glass under £10.
84-86 Great Eastern St is currently operating as Bird & Ballard coffee, but was formerly The Foundry; an iconic bar and venue for the last 20 years. Its basement was used to accomodate art, music, live radio broadcasts and poetry events. Celebrated artists from Banksy to Gavin Turk have enhanced its walls. One of Banksy’s artworks, a six metre high painting of a rat with a knife and fork, has been removed for safe keeping. Originally a bank, the venue still boasts original architectural features including giant vaults, safes and marble flooring.
As well as an extensive by the glass selection including solid house wines from £4, there will be cheese from Androuet Spitalfields, meat from Luca at Picco Salumi, Freddie from F.A.T. homemade pickles, e5 bakehouse ‘Hackney Wild’ loaf, and a supreme Sager & Wilde sandwich. And let's not forget the sterling presence of beard from Mike.
All wine (and beard) lovers welcome."

When - Thursdays until Christmas, 6pm m- 11pm

Where - 84-86 Great Eastern Street, EC2A 3JL (The corner of Gt Eastern St and Old Street)
