I love featuring really unusual and creative events on this site, and this definitely sounds like it ticks all those boxes! The Royal Horticultural Society are holding a special harvest festival party, with a vegetable orchestra, plus pumpkin carving, folk music, cider, and cocktails from our friends at Midnight Apothecary. It sounds like lots of fun!
"A scrumptious evening at the RHS London Harvest Festival Show... please invite your friends and join us there!
An evening of mists and mellow fruitfulness awaits you at the Harvest Festival Late. For the first time, the RHS London Harvest Festival Show is extending its opening hours on Tuesday 9th October until 9pm.
The acclaimed London Vegetable Orchestra (www.londonvegetableorchestra.com) will be wowing the crowd, as they demonstrate the versatility of their vegetable instruments; join us for 5pm if you'd like to see them expertly MAKE their veg instruments before the performance! Dreamy folk music to follow with the amazing Robin Grey band (www.robingrey.com), rounding off the evening beautifully.
Come along and carve your own pumpkin, hear about the adventures of forager Yun Hider (www.wildfoodcentre.org/) and experience wondrous giant veggies. In addition, the world-famous Mrs Tee (www.wildmushrooms.co.uk) will be cooking some of her delicious wild mushrooms. With alcoholic veggie cocktails from the Midnight Apothecary, cider from RHS Wisley Garden and tasty treats, the Harvest Festival Late promises to be a night to remember."
