London Street Prints Charity Pop-up Exhibition in West Hampstead

A very last minute posting, but for a very good cause.  Come along on Saturday and help raise money for charity.

"The Government had an aim to eradicate homelessness in London before the 2012 Olympic Games.
In 2008 the Department for Communities and Local Governments launched the Rough Sleepers strategy, with the aim of ending rough sleeping in London by 2012.
Figures released at the end of June 2012 by homelessness charity Broadway show that from 2011 to 2012 the total number of people sleeping rough on the streets of London had increased by 43% on the previous year.
With an estimated 5.5 million visitors to the city during the summer this year, accommodation will be at a premium and services under strain, making life for those sleeping rough on the streets even harder.
London Street Prints is a collaborative print project inspired by London 2012 with the aim of helping homeless people across the capital this summer.  Our aim is to raise £2012 for the charity Broadway Homelessness & Support before the end of the Games.
This is a not-for-profit project with artists & designers contributing their work to a limited edition series of prints. Each print is priced at £49 for an A3 giclee edition and all proceeds (over £30 per print) will go to Broadway.
An exhibition will be launched on Saturday 4th August at Gloves Boxing Club, West Hampstead from 5.30pm.
“With the Jubilee and Olympic celebrations this year, there is a real focus on London, and it is so important that the city’s most vulnerable people are helped during this time.  London Street Prints gives us a chance to show that in this time of wealth and celebration, people have not forgotten those most in need.”
Kirsty Telford, Fundraising Manager, Broadway"
