Another literary evening from the excellent Literary Dinners, this time for the graphic novelist Glyn Dillon's new book The Nao of Brown. I went to the last event - see pictures here - and it was excellent. You can see the work that goes into the venue and the preparation, and the food was delicious. This also comes highly recommended!
Note that while the book doesn't come out until October I'm assured that Foyles will have copies before the date of the dinner. You can order from them at the link at the bottom.
"Step into the pages of a graphic novel like no other and fulfill your most unusual dreams. Well, not *that* unusual, but quite strange nevertheless.
For our next Literary Dinner in London, author and artist Glyn Dillon will be transforming the Orange Dot Gallery into the alternate reality of his forthcoming graphic novel, The Nao of Brown, a colourful tale of one woman’s search for that most elusive love - perfect love. Join us to dine on delicacies that pay tribute to the novel’s Japanese influences, as we bring you a multi-course, multi-taste banquet menu of Godzilla-sized proportions.
Our resident maitre d'graphique will be on hand with speech bubbles to guide guests through the evening's novel entertainment, plus special guest Jessica Hynes will be talking with Glyn about his extraordinary achievement over a fortune cookie or two. They're good friends, so expect secrets to be spilled."
