Like a glass of wine with your burger? For the duration of the Olympics Elliot's cafe in Stoney Street will be playing host to Raw, the artisan wine fair, to offer fine burgers and fine wine.
"As London gears up for weeks of sporting prowess, RAW will be popping up nightly in the form of a natural wine burger bar at Borough Market.
We have joined forces with the phenomenal Elliot's Café, who ran the hugely popular English oyster shucking stall at the fair, and who are also officially one of the best burger joints in London.
Described as “outfitted in the manner of French onion soup” with its “plump patty of aged beef, beer-braised onions, aged ComtĂ© and linseed brioche bun brushed with acidulated dill butter”, all sourced from Borough Market itself, the burgers are wonderfully delicious and we’re delighted to be able to work with a team as committed to community, sustainability and proper food & drink, as we are.
All wines featured at the pop-up come from vineyards that came to RAW in May or will be coming to our next edition in spring 2013. There will even be one of our growers stopping by on the 1st August, if you fancy meeting him in person.
The menu is simple – burgers. Take away or eat in.
The wine list is a little more complex as it will change regularly so pop along and find out.
Prices start from £15 for a burger with chips and a glass of wine."
