Midnight Apothecary Pop Up Garden Cocktail Bar in Rotherhithe

This summer the Brunel Museum in SE16 has a new feature - a secret pop-up rooftop garden and cocktail bar, with river views, hidden in the grounds.  Sounds fabulous!

"The creator of the garden and the cocktail night is Lottie Muir. By day she is the volunteer gardener who has recently transformed the garden above the Brunel's famous Thames from scrubby wasteland into a magical potager garden teeming with vegetables and flowers.
But on Saturday night she sheds her gardening gloves and dons her apron to become The Cocktail Gardener, moving from flowerbed to bar, to rustle up gorgeous cocktails infused and garnished with ingredients from the garden for Midnight Apothecary. It is running every Saturday throughout the summer from 5.30pm till late.  Previous incarnations have included honey and basil dacquiris, whisky mint juleps, blackberry martinis, maple martinis, gin and lavender fizz with homemade basil, mint and cucumber syrup.
The space overlooks the river and includes deckchairs, a firepit, flares, live music (everything from opera to blues with ukelele in between, all performed by local residents), toasted marshmallows…and a lot of flowers. There are no better surroundings than this secret rooftop garden of a summer evening.  Please note the earlier opening time of 5pm,every Saturday, free entry, cash bar, last orders 10.30pm.  7.30pm guided Brunel Tunnel Grand Entrance Hall descent underground is an optional extra (£5).  In the event of (heavy) rain cocktails shall be in the Engine House."
