Codorníu, Spain's foremost Cava producer are reprising their Barcelona Supper Club, which I was lucky enough to go to last year. It's a night that includes cookery classes, wine tasting, jamon carving, and of course lots and lots of delicious Cava. Read my review here - it was a great evening! This one comes highly recommended.
"On 20th June, Codorníu is hosting its second Barcelona Supper Club at Waitrose Cookery School in London.
The event celebrates the Barcelona lifestyle with three hands-on culinary masterclasses in one supper club experience.
The evening will incorporate a traditional jamón carving class hosted by expert carver, Chuse Valvor of Tozino. You will learn about the different cuts of jamón, how to choose the correct knife, position the jamón on a ‘jamonero’ and even blend the different layers of succulent jamón to get the best flavour sensation.
Guests will have the chance to cook up an authentic, seasonal Spanish dish with a Michelin-starred chef from the Waitrose cookery school, learning about the mouth-watering ingredients that create some of Spain’s most delicious dishes.
To finish, there will be a “Fizzness School” hosted by Codorníu. This Cava tasting tutorial will give you an introduction to sparkling wine, teaching you how to pair it with food, as well as exploring the diversity of wine styles Codorníu has to offer.
After the three masterclasses, attendees will sit down to enjoy a three-course dinner incorporating the culinary creations from earlier in the evening, which will be paired with delicious wines and Cavas from Codorníu."
